Welcome to the year

Hi families,

As we start to settle into the year, at Co-op have focused on finishing the bulk of our orientations and settling periods for new families. It is wonderful to have had so many new families choose to join our little Co-op. We look forward to spending the next few years with you all.

With new families, and a new year, comes new routines, rhythms and rituals to our days. In the morning, during the busy drop off period we have been observing and fine tuning our staff roster to ensure we have enough staff here when the bulk of the children are arriving.

If you are arriving for drop off before 8:30am in the mornings, there is 2 staff rostered on with the third staff member starting at 8:30am. Whilst we continue to fine tune our roster we have rostered on extra staff to start earlier whilst we find the balance and adequate level of staffing needed, however, the staff team at times may need to ask you to stay for a few extra minutes until the next staff member arrives. This is to ensure quality and continuity of care during busy periods. Thanks for your help and patience during this time.

Some reminders and updates:

  • Please ensure to pack several sets of labelled spare clothes in your child’s bag, especially so if they are learning to use the toilet. To help lessen our lost property collection, our educators will write your child’s name on any unlabelled clothing and items we find.
  • If you have had a Co-op Wet Bag sent home with wet or dirty clothes, please wash and return to Co-op ASAP.
  • Make sure to bring a hat.
  • Please ensure you apply sunscreen to your child in the morning. Sunscreen is usually in the foyer and on top of the lockers.
  • We have several children with ANAPHYLAXIS. Do not leave any food in your child’s bag or bring in any food to Co-op without prior permission.
  • Please ensure when you enter or exit a room that the door is closed behind you, this is especially important if you are bringing older siblings into Co-op.
  • Do not leave any medication in your child’s bag.

We are all looking forward to the year ahead.
